A LITTLE HELP, WHEN YOU NEED IT
Hello.
Let’s get you sorted.
From your first scan to a library full of connections, here are a few answers to keep things moving.
How do I scan my first business card?
On iPhone or iPad, tap the + button and choose “Scan a card”. Place the card in good light, keep it flat, and capture the image. Review the recognized details before you save.
You can also import images from Photos or Files. On Mac, import images or drop image files into the library.
Can I keep both sides of a card?
Yes. Keep the original front and back images alongside the contact details. You can add the back image from Camera, Photos, or Files. When importing multiple images, you can use consecutive front/back pairs.
Some details weren’t recognized correctly. What now?
Open the card and edit its fields. A sharp, well-lit image helps, but you are always in control of the final details. You can add phone types, custom fields, and notes too.
How do I organize my connections?
Add colorful tags, put cards in folders, or mark favorites. You can group your library by folder, tag, organization, or date, and search using the details you remember.
Can I change how CardsMate looks?
Yes. Choose your accent color and app icon in Settings. Switch between Masonry, Carousel, Details, and compact List views. Customize which details appear on cards, and create a default card template with your own fields.
How do I save a card to Apple Contacts?
Open the card and choose the Contacts action. CardsMate requests permission when needed, offers existing matches, and lets you explicitly create or update a contact. Deleting a card later does not remove a contact already saved to Apple Contacts.
Does CardsMate collect my data?
No. CardsMate has no ads or analytics SDKs, and card recognition stays on your device. Optional iCloud, Apple Maps, App Store tips, and TestFlight use Apple services. Read the privacy page for the details.
Can I use CardsMate across my Apple devices?
CardsMate is built for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It requires iOS / iPadOS 26 or macOS 26 or later. Optional private iCloud sync is available in supported builds when configured; it uses your Apple account. You can also export and import library archives.
I removed a card by mistake. Can I recover it?
Open Recently Deleted and restore the card. If you permanently deleted it, it cannot be recovered from Recently Deleted. An archive exported before deletion may contain a copy.
Where can I send beta feedback?
Open TestFlight, select CardsMate, and use “Send Beta Feedback”. Include the device, OS version, what you were doing, and what happened. A screenshot can help — remove private contact details first.
Still need a hand?
Email support@cardsmate.app. Tell us your device, OS version, and what happened. Please remove private contact details from screenshots.
